Linking to Library Resources

CCBC Library offers a variety of online licensed content that may be linked to Brightspace including articles, E-books, streaming videos, research guides and LibraryLearn. This is an easy way to provide copyrighted materials with students in compliance with copyright laws. You also need to worry about authentication issues.

Academic Video Online

Academic Video Online is the most comprehensive video collection. It delivers over 60,000 titles spanning a wide range of subject areas (including anthropology, business, counseling, film, health, history, music and etc.) published by PBS, HBO, BBC, History Channel, and others.

Finding Embed Code or URL

  1. Go to Academic Video Online.
  2. Find the video you wish to use and go to its page.
  3. Once you are on the page for the video, find and click the Share option near the top of the screen.
  4. Copy the Embed Code or the Permalink.

How to Create a Video Link

After copying the URL or the Embed Code, within Brightspace, select the area you wish to add the link.

1.  Click Upload/Create in the module menu.

2.  Select Video or Audio.

3.  In the popup window, paste the Embed Code or URL. Click on Save.

4.  If you want to include instructions or a description for the external library link, click on the context menu arrow next to the link title on the content page.  Choose "Edit Properties In-place." 

5.  You can add dates and restrictions and a description that the student will see on the content page.
