Library 101 For Students: In-Person Library Changes

A short introduction to the CCBC Libraries

CCBC Library Protocols

The CCBC Campus Libraries are strictly following the policies laid out in CCBC's Plans for a Phased Reopening. Here are the major protocols that must be followed when in the library:

  • Masks are mandatory and must be worn during entire stay in library and fit properly
  • Social distancing must be maintained during use of computers, study space, and interactions with library staff
  • Study rooms will remain closed for the time being
  • No food or drinks in the library

Despite the Covid-19 protocols, many of our services have not changed - you can still come into the library to study (at open tables), use computers, print, scan, and copy documents, and check out and return books. Librarians and library staff are also available for brief information transactions (under 15 minutes). If you need to work with a librarian for more than 15 minutes, considering using LibraryCHAT, scheduling a RAP Session, or sending us an email at

Library Chat Hours:

Monday - Thursday 8:30am-7:30pm

Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

Saturday 10:00am-3:00pm

New Changes

Reserve textbooks can be requested from the circulation desk for 15 minute increments to make copies, take notes, take pictures, or scan. You must sanitize your hands before handling the textbook. Then return the textbook to the desk.

For magazines, current editions are being held at the circulation desk. Just stop at the desk and ask for the magazine and you can read it on site or make copies.

Many of our magazines and newspapers can be found online too!

Check out US Newsstream. If you scroll just a little way down you’ll see a section that says Included Databases -> Click on U.S. Major Dailies for newspapers like NY Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and more. You can also read the Baltimore Sun online.

Online-On Campus Labs

Online-On Campus Labs - These labs are available for you to participate in your online, remote, or hybrid classes on campus. Headphones with mics will be provided by the Safety Monitor at each lab.
