Hip-Hop: Books

A general guide for researching history, culture, music and other topics of interest in hip-hop using the collection and online resources of CCBC Libraries.

Library Catalog

Check the Library Catalog for additional books. You will find books available on all 3 CCBC campuses.

In the Catalog you may:

  • Search a keyword topic, for example "hip hop" or "hip hop dance" or "rap music" or "rap musicians".
  •  Search the title of a book, for example "Holler if you hear me : searching for Tupac Shakur".
  • Search an author's name, for example "Dyson, Michael Eric" or "Rose, Tricia" or "Chang, Jeff".

The Libraries use the Library of Congress Classification system to shelve books. You will need to have the call number to locate books; our call numbers use both letters and numbers together.

Use InterLibrary Loan to borrow from other campuses/libraries.

      Reference books: hip-hop
