Simply put, writing a college paper is about picking a topic or position, researching it, and sharing what you've learned in an academic format. A paper often has you making an argument - your thesis - and explaning why you have picked that position. Your topic will evolve as you research.You will likely start with a big idea that's too much to tackle in a single paper. This is ok. Find the parts that most interest you. Clarity of direction will help you work smart.
