Anatomy & Physiology: Research Basics

Search CCBC Library Catalog

Search Library Catalog for books available in all three libraries. In the Catalog, you may:

  • Search for a keyword, for example "political refugee".
  • Search for a title, for example "American Dream".
  • Search for an author, for example "Tan, Amy".

CCBC Libraries use the Library of Congress classification system to shelve all the books. You will need the call number with both letters and numbers to locate the books.

You may also use InterLibrary Loan to borrow books from other libraries.

Keyword Search

AND Boolean
When searching for a topic, remember to combine your main ideas with the word AND. This will retrieve all of the articles that contain both words. It will narrow your search, so that you have a limited number of results.

Finding Scholarly Articles

When a professor requires you to use a scholarly article, it means you need to use academic resources for your papers and projects. Take a look at the Anatomy of A Scholarly Article on how to identify a scholarly source. Scholarly sources have been reviewed by experts to see if they are academically valid.
